How it works

What happens, from request to call.

One hour, one‑on‑one with the surgeon — no coordinator, no records to gather, no obligation when you first reach out.

1

Send a request

A short form: your email, your country, and the topic you want to discuss. Nothing is charged at this point.

2

Agree a time

Within two business days you get a reply proposing times that work across your time zone and Japan, plus a payment link.

3

Talk, one-on-one

A 60-minute video call, directly with the surgeon, in English or Japanese. You describe things in your own words.

4

Follow up

Book a 30-minute follow-up with the same surgeon whenever your situation changes or new questions come up.

What this is
  • General information about how your situation is typically approached in Japan
  • A calm hour to think an important decision through, with a neurosurgeon
  • Questions worth taking back to the doctor who examines you
  • A clearer sense of what to ask, and what your options tend to be
What this is not
  • Not a diagnosis, a prescription, or a treatment decision
  • Not a reading of your scans — those belong with the doctor who can examine you
  • Not a doctor–patient relationship, and not a substitute for your local care
  • Not for emergencies — if something is acute, call your local emergency services
Practical questions

Time zones, language, and privacy

Time zones. Consultations are arranged around your time zone and mine. Japan is UTC+9; when we agree a time, we look for a slot that is reasonable on both sides, including evenings in Japan for the Americas and Europe. Every proposed time is written out in both your time zone and Japan time, so there is no arithmetic to do.

How we connect. The consultation takes place on a WhatsApp video call, or WeChat if you prefer — whichever you already use. Tell me which one when we agree a time, and the details arrive with your confirmation email. If you have neither, say so and we will find an alternative.

Language. Consultations are held in English or Japanese — whichever you are more comfortable in.

Privacy. There are no records to upload. Please do not send medical records, images, or test results — not on the form, and not through the chat app either. A short description of the topic is enough, and we discuss everything in general terms on the call.

Payment. Nothing is due when you send your request. After we agree a time, a payment link arrives in the same email that confirms your appointment — payable by card, or by Wise invoice if you prefer a bank transfer. See Pricing for cancellation and refund terms.

Start with a request — not a payment.
